I tried unplugging/replugging cables, reinstalling drivers (Intel Graphics HD 4000), but to no avail. After the "Starting Windows" screen the monitor complains "HDMI no signal".

The monitor displays HDMI picture fine from boot-up (BIOS messages/settings) up until Windows 7 loads. Soon after I got my hands on an HDMI cable, I tried to replace the VGA one with it. This leaves only DVI and VGA inputs for this monitor.I have an Asus 247H monitor which I hooked up to a Gigabyte motherboard's (GA-Z77-D3H) on-board VGA port at first. Similar to the VX2453MD-LED, you'll receive an integrated speaker system, but the HDMI port is not included. It also has a 20,000,000:1 contrast radio and 5ms response time geared perfectly for fast-paced gaming.

The 24″ LED display is rated to save up to 50% in comparison to a traditional LCD monitor and includes a full 1080P resolution. The ViewSonic VX2450WM-LED is the lower model of the previous VX2453MH-LED model shown above, but still packs some impressive specs. It still features a full 1080P HD display, 50 million:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and the same variety of connection options.

What differs from the VS247H-P is the smaller 22-inch LED screen and 5ms response rate (instead of 2ms). The Asus VS228H-P is the smaller version of the VS247H-P model that I mentioned earlier in this article. The LED technology found within this 23-inch monitor is rated to save up to 40% power in comparison to a conventional LCD monitor. With this monitor, you get a 5ms response time, 1080P resolution, 5 million:1 dynamic contrast ratio and both a VGA & DVI connection.

The Samsung S23B3003B is part of the B300 series of Samsung monitors and offers high performance in an attractive gloss black finish. Its styling is appealing with a slim profile and X-shaped stand that really turns heads. As for connection options, it includes both a VGA and DVI connection in which the DVI input includes HDCP support for viewing of digital movies and copy-protected media. The Acer G236HL is a 23″ LED monitor that packs a 1080P resolution and fast 5ms response time. Similar to the previous two models, the VX2453MH-LED includes an audio in and an audio out so you could utilize the integrated speakers or add your own external ones and use this monitor for console gaming as well. The 2ms response time is perfect for gaming and the slim design adds some real style to your gaming setup. The ViewSonic VX2453MH-LED monitor comes packed with a 24″ LED display, 1080P full HD resolution, 30 million:1 contrast ratio, 2 HDMI ports, a VGA port, and built-in SRS premium sound speakers. Another nice feature of this monitor is the built-in Black eQualizer technology that helps give you the proper control over your color and black ranges. This monitors response time is a whopping 1ms which is rare to find at this price point. It features multiple connection options (HDMI, DVI, VGA) and an audio line in therefore it can be used for playing console games as well if you happen to own a set of spare speakers. The BenQ RL2455HM monitor is also the official Major League Gaming (MLG) monitor so it is pretty obvious that it is an excellent gaming monitor. This means you can hookup your Xbox 360 (or PS3) as well as some speakers and utilize this monitor as if it were an HDTV. Some notable features of the VS247H-P include its slim design, 24-inch LED IPS display, multiple connection options (DVI, VGA, HDMI), 2ms response time, 50,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and the ability to hookup an external audio source for use with HDMI.
